Closing one chapter in our story, but starting a whole new adventure. Photograph taken at Waikawau, by Jayden Fisher

After nearly 24 years, it is time for a change! We wanted a new name to reflect the changes to what we currently do, projects such as Moehau ki te Moana, managing the Colville Harbour Care Nursery, programs such as Youth Group and Youth Mentoring, events, training, and so much more. Another key reason for changing the name – we are not actually a primary social service provider. Also, can you imagine answering the phone saying “Colville Social Service Collective” every time?!
So our new name will be: Colville Junction community, connections, collaboration We hope you like it! To create a new name we had two workshops lead by Alice Leney, with a group of people from the community and additional input from staff and other community members. We feel the name captures the coming together of different communities – a place of connections. Same organisation, different name! Look out for our new logo and name in the new year. |
